10:00 am

FAYONE will conduct the annual Gotcha’ Back Backpack Giveaway and Cut My City Free hair services event on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at the Crown Arena (1960 Coliseum Drive, Fayetteville, NC 28306).  The event is open to the public and will start at 10 am with free food, hair services for kids, backpacks for the community, entertainment, fun, and community information. Kids must be in the venue and registered by 2pm to receive free hair services.

FAYONE is the combination of 2 Fayetteville Community annual events, the Gotcha’Back Backpack Giveaway and Cut My City. FAYONE joined together this year to provide a bigger community initiative that would help kids and families not only in isolated areas of Fayetteville, but also throughout every area of need in Fayetteville and Cumberland County in preparation for the 2018 school year.  From 10am-5pm on August 18th, students and families will be equipped with information, school supplies, backpacks, and more that will help them succeed in school and class.

What began with providing backpacks and hair services is now a collective of organizations coming together to provide “Opportunities that Never End”. Event organizers, Kevin Brooks, of local non-profit organization thegroupTheory Inc. and Shawn Morris and Lumumba Quow of Cut My City share a common goal to host the best Back to School Event in Cumberland County. These organizers hope to fill a need in our community to assist students and families as they head back to school.
