Second Year Fan Favorite Returns to FireAntz

Head coach Jeff Bes announced today the return of centerman Tayler Thompson for his second straight season with the FireAntz organization.

“Tayler quickly established himself as a hard working and honest player who will do anything for his team and teammates,” Bes said. “We are pleased to have Thompson return and look forward to watching him excel.”

The 23-year-old Bredenbury, Saskatchewan native enters his second pro season with the FireAntz. The 6’1’’, 180-pound center played all 56 regular season games for the FireAntz last season, registering 5 goals and 18 assists for 23 points.

“I think our core guys have done all the right things in the off season to be prepared for this upcoming season,” said Thompson. “We are going to let the new guys coming in know that we are all here to win a championship, and that's the bottom line.”

Thompson joined the FireAntz last season after a three-year career with the Yorktown Terriers and a brief one-year career at the University of Saskatchewan. In those four years, Thompson played a total 156 games registering 120 points.
